This is spot (Depill in Icelandic) named after his markings on underside of the fluke, a regular in the Eyjafjordur fjord near Dalvik in northern Iceland. We were lucky enough to see about 10 humpbacks that morning, thanks to @arcticseatours for the amazing trip.
The Douglas Super DC-3 plane wreck that crash landed on #Sólheimasandur beach on Saturday November 24 1973. The United States Navy crew all survived, later transpired that the pilot had simply switched over to the wrong fuel tank. 👨🏻✈️!
Vertical iPhone panoramic at of flysch rock formations at #zumaia#geopark Basque coast, Spain. Flysch is a sedimentary rock formed by the alternate deposition of thin layers of silt and sandstone. These rocks are also the longest set of continuous rock strata in the world an were formed over a period of 100 million years. The collision between the Iberian and European tectonic plates exposed these sediments about 50 million years ago and forced them vertical.
Curious stag taken in the Scottish highlands between unapool and drumbeg. This peninsula in Sutherland was probably one of our favourite areas on the northcoast 500. The deer were a bit skittish but if you drove slowly enough it was possible to get fairly close.
