Day trip to Ston, famous for its oyster and mussel farms. The oysters have been cultivated here since Roman times. The city has a 5.5-km wall that was built in 1333. We climbed it from Ston to its sister town Mali Ston.
Super touristy, but now I see why. This town is beautiful. #croatia
Views from Dubrovnik: ferry to Lokrum Island, ruins of a Benedictine monastery dating back to the 12th century, the “Dead Sea” saltwater lake, and views from Fort Royal. #croatia
Bijela Kuca is a hotel that operated for almost 30 years until it was abandoned in the 1990s during the Yugoslav Wars. It operated briefly as a safe house for refugees. Now owned by the government, but still abandoned. And covered in pretty amazing graffiti. #croatia
