No monuments in Central Oregon (or actually much else, either), but we are proud of ourselves anyway. 2417 miles this season.
C'est fini. We did the thing.
Hugs and thanks to the wonderful hikerbros who walked this crazy fucking year with us. I'm proud of you guys. We all did this together. Through fires, snow, and like a truly IMPROBABLE amount of flipflopping, we all did this together.
Back in Chicago now, mulling over what's been and what's coming. Honestly, I don't know if I'm ready to process this experience yet. It's too soon and too fresh and too raw.
I need Time and beer to put that magical haze of nostalgic retrospection on it before I can understand this hike. So what I'll say for now is this: NoTrust, $lowbos, Fellowship of the Trailblazing J Bandits, Offically High/Flippy-floppies/Team Dedication/Team Asshole 2400, you are amazing people and we love you.
Cheers. — K
Please send encouragement. We are in a tiny town south of Crater Lake, trying to assess what can be still done with potential winter weather impending late this week. We only have 200 miles of hikeable trail left and stopping now seems like giving up.
We're tired. We're homesick. Getting off trail is SO tempting but it's the last thing we want. It's so hard to be the only 5 hikers out here as the weather turns cold, but this isn't the way I want to end things. Send encouragement. #womenwhohike#pct2017#pacificcresttrail#pct
