Vegan Gnocchi ❤️. Almost a year ago I ate this dish at ACHT in Aachen. I took a 📸and wrote down the ingredients in a note on my 📱 with the plan to recreate. And so I did. And it was amazing 🙌🏻. Shallots, garlic, fennel, gnocchi, ouzo (or Pernod or another anise liquor), coconut milk, spinach, tarragon and pine nuts. Add in this order ;). Do try this at home!

Dunglish post alert🚨! “Stoeteman” or “Weckman” bread pudding. Also quite easily made with old “kerststol” or “krentenbollen”. Just tear any type of old / stale bread into pieces, soak it in a mixture of almond milk, egg (or as I do, egg whites and a flax egg), vanilla sugar, cinnamon, cardamom and ginger powder (or 5 spice), let it soak for half an hour, add some cubed 🍎 and top it off with some sugar. Our in the oven for 35-40 minutes on 180 degrees Celsius. Serve with some quark or yoghurt. 😍

It’s been years since I made this pasta 🍝 sauce. I don’t know why but somehow yesterday it came to me again. It’s really simple and delicious, just whisk 1 egg yolk, the zest and juice of 1 lemon, 40 grams of grated Parmesan, some pepper, salt and a bit of cream together and add it to your boiled and drained pasta in a hot pan. Stir it together on low heat till you get a nice thick and creamy sauce. Pairs wonderfully with any type of fish, like salmon I used here, and greens, like spinach.

I’m having the best birthday week over here! Yesterday we enjoyed an amazing dinner at @restaurantarles in De Pijp. The pork cheek and riz au lait were the highlights 🤗, but to be honest, everything was delicious. Great attentive staff as well, in for a joke. 
Tonight it’s time to get the “real” party 🎉 started 🥁.

About last night. Triple dessert 🍮, Michelin ⭐️ =❤️my job! Delicious 7 course meal: Sea urchin, smoked mackerel, langoustine, wafting beef, choco passion mouse, white chocolate soufflé and pasteis de nata and macaroons.
