Going back to school this Sunday afternoon...The School of Rock at @foxtheatrestl.
As you may have noticed in my previous post, I’m currently reading a book about John Singer Sargent by @donna.m.lucey - it is one of two books I’m reading with my @iuartanddesign students. Lucky for me, the @stlartmuseum just purchased this painting by Sargent, a portrait of Charlotte Cram, for $2.2 million and now has it on display in gallery 335. The St. Louis Art Museum owns two other paintings by Sargent (swipe left to see them) but neither are on display.
Frothy Fridays: My mission to find my favorite coffee shop in STL (plus a sneak peek at my current read.) Coffee shop suggestions welcome! Episode 1 -

My view has changed quite a bit in the past month. A friend once told me that you should do things that make you uncomfortable in order to live life to the fullest. This move is my uncomfortable thing of the moment and I’m looking to make the most of it. Swipe left for the “then” of this Then and Now.
When temps are below zero...we work from home. My assistant🐶 is keeping watch and guarding the fort while I grade.
#HastyBookList Are you dreaming of warmer weather? I am! It is below zero here in St. Charles and looking at these pics of Cabo makes me long for summer days. 🖥 Visit https://www.hastybooklist.com/home/revenants-book-review for more info about Revenants by Scott Kauffman.
Spent the morning at the @stlartmuseum for the Member’s Morning tour, Time Travel to Ancient Art. We learned about Roman, Greek, and Egyptian art. The tour ended in the new Egyptian gallery - check it out when you get a chance! It is beautifully done.
Home Sweet Home. Nothing beats the greetings of a dog when you’ve been gone for a week!
Public art in @visitbtown by my @iuartanddesign colleagues... (C)olumn was created from words and phrases that describe our community and were submitted online by Bloomington residents.
#HastyBookList I read After Andy by @ticklishtash with my @iuartanddesign students as part of our student reading group. I love combining my interests in art, fashion, and literature and sharing those interests with my students. In lieu of our regular meeting, the first week we discussed this book my students and I met in Indianapolis to visit @longsharpgallery. At the time, they were exhibiting many of Warhol's early works!
