I was going to tell you about the great grey owl, too! He's been hanging out in our backyard in Mtn green for weeks! On the weekends, it's usually pretty easy to find him if you just drive up the canyon and then drive around town until you see all the cars pulled over on the side of the road. There are hundreds of birdwatchers who come up on the weekends to look at him. It's quite a spectacle! πŸ˜‚

I just wanted to share some of my favorite homeschooling/adventure seeking mommas with y'all today. I love gaining inspiration from others here in these tiny squares. And getting a tiny peek into the life of other like minded families. And I'd love to know, who are your favorite inspiring mommas you follow?

Our first hike to Hobbs since it snowed. I can't even describe how good it felt to climb up here after so long. I've had the worst attitude lately and I can't help but feel like it's tied to my lack of outdoor activity and sun light. This is just what I needed today. And yes they stepped on the ice and fell in. #readsbefieldtrippin

3 things I'm loving in this shot. Beginnings of shiplap, Riz's hand placement (hereditary? πŸ˜‚), and Fern. Do you guys use National Geographic magazines? These were my all time favorite as a kid. I would spend hours looking at them at my grandmas. I inherited a huge stack, I'm wishing I had taken the whole lot. Turns out they are Lockes favorite too ❀️#wherethegreenferngoes

I just took like 10 from the library's "free" pile because I thought they were so cool too! I was wondering what I would do with them, but couldn't resist. #bookhoarder

I subscribed to nat geo for a couple of years before I had kids for the main purpose of using for homeschool. Hahaha. I grew up looking at really old ones my neighbor had stashed away
Love the shiplap. I love those magazines, reminds me of when I was little. Sometimes we find them at the library for sale.

Hello there! I just wanted to welcome all of you new friends that are following along. My name is Steph, and these are my four favorite people Locke 11, Breckyn 9, Riz 6, and Aberdeen "Berdee" for short is 2 going on threenager. Fun fact: none of us share the same hair color (including dad). A little about us: Locke went to 1st grade, Breck went to half of kinder and Riz is my first to not attend preschool or any public school. I NEVER thought I would homeschool. In fact I dreamed of the day that all my kids would be in school full time, but the Lord had other plans for us. And I'm so grateful he did! This unexpected journey has been such a gift. It has given our family so much freedom and most of all time! Time to do our own thing. Learn. Field trip. Adventure. Love. And live life to the fullest. I realize that you can do those things without homeschooling but for us it helped us get our priorities in order. This space is where I share a journal of our life in tiny squares. I try to keep it positive and inspiring but truth be told, we are just like everyone else, we have struggles, we cry, we scream (some off us more than others ahem (Berd)), we have bad days, but I choose to focus on the good, that's what I want to remember in the end. I share a lot of our homeschool journey here because it's a huge part of our life. I also have a small obsession with my home state and document our Utah adventures over on @saltproject.co. I love the mountains and hiking, I'm a wannabe farmer (gimme all the chickens, cows, horses), Ive always wanted to be in a hotdog eating contest (don't love hot dogs, but I do like to eat). My life long dream has always been to be a mom, and I firmly believe that there is no greater work that I could be or should be doing right now in my life. Thanks for joining our journey. I'd love for you to say hi and let me know if you have any questions 😘

Thank you for sharing! I think I started following you because I was looking for clues for adventures to do with my kids around Utah and I seem to keep seeing you post things that we have just recently done, so we must live in the same area! I have 3 little ones, oldest in kindergarten and I am very interested in homeschool because I miss the freedom to have adventures and learn together we had in the summer, and I've seen my brother's kids just thrive through homeschooling. I also never expected to want to take on that responsibility but I am increasingly feeling like it might be great for me and my girls. I'd love to know more about the program, curriculum, process, etc. that you use and options for connecting with other homeschoolers in this area!
