Yesterday we made our way south to Tainan, the oldest city and food capital of Taiwan. Started our day today with the local breakfast specialty, milkfish soup. Nice and simple with a light broth, fatty fish belly, and a small mountain of ginger.
Taiwan's night markets are the ultimate street food experience. Feng Chia in Taichung was our fourth night market of the trip so far and one of my favorites. It's apparently known as the experimental market where you'll often find new dishes that haven't made it out to other markets yet. It's adjacent to the university so, as you can see, there are plenty of willing testers.
