Hobbled down three storeys of stairs yesterday to find lunch instead of dabao-ing up (what I did the past 1.5 weeks because ankle) only because "I wanted to OOTD".

Bangkok/Pattaya 2017-2018. Possibly the first trip I ever took on since my joint pains spread to my ankle last year. So apart from coping with the usual pain in my knees, my ankle made it even harder to walk so I was practically hobbling around everywhere. I really pushed it to its limits during those 9 days and now it's seriously time to take a break.
Been trying to qwell these thoughts which I've been having since the middle of the trip until now. With my illness claiming more and more joints year-on-year, I can't imagine how much more difficult travelling will become in the future. (While I generally adopt a very slow pace in Singapore because I need to balance my illness and not compromise my work, I generally go all out when overseas and not let my illness hold me back.) Suddenly feeling this urge to travel even more this year and next, just in case it gets even more difficult to get around subsequently. My mum made this fleeting statement before I left for Bangkok regarding my ankle - "worst come to worst just sit in a wheelchair lor". She probably meant it as a joke, but it hit home and I want to ensure this doesn't become a reality.
Meanwhile I shall continue hiding out in my warm warm room because the cold rainy weather has made me catch a cold. And I have widespread muscle aches which are tag-teaming with my joints (also hurting more because of the cold weather) to make me grumpy AF. πŸ˜‘

Our Bangkok Airbnb had a tall atrium with natural lighting and this mosaic patterned wall. Pity we did not check out the infinity pool on the top floor though.
Fast forward one week to today, and now both this boy and I are sick because of the recent cold weather here in Singapore. β›ˆπŸ€’

I look zen in this photo. But this was before I was nearly run over by a $&#?-ing inconsiderate cyclist just across the road from my office.
I was standing on the pavement along the ramp, waiting to cross the road. (Hobble across, more like. My ankle still hurts like $&#? and in a splint.) This middle aged man on a bicycle suddenly approached me, gave me a stare and immediately proceeded to squeeze past me on the ramp, his bicycle basket ramming into me in the process, and his rear wheel nearly running over my bad ankle. I lost my balance but managed to regain it in time, whirled around and let loose a series of expletives. Not very classy I know, but seriously what the fuck.

If this cyclist rang the bell (or shouted, if he had no bell) to let me know if I'm in his way, I would have gladly moved aside. But his direction was ambiguous and it seemed like he was going to continue down the main road. Then suddenly, I see this person coming straight at me and I can't even hobble away in time.

So pissed off I can't even. Seriously, don't let me see you around Keong Saik Road again. 😀
