This little gentleman joined our family on Friday. His brother and sisters adore him and we're so excited he's finally here. Becca did amazing, even as she was wheeled into the OR for what would have been an emergency C-Section. But she was able to get him out just in time safe and sound. Everyone healthy and happy.
As many of you know, I don't seriously talk about names until we get to the hospital. But this time, I had a pretty good idea what his name would be.
A few months ago Becca suggested Zane Michael. I couldn't think of two better names for who I want this little boy to be.
Zane, a nod to one of my closest friends, a great example of kindness, hard work, and leadership.
Michael, after his grandfather, my Dad. He's the smartest person I know and a great example of living life focused on creativity, art, giving, the Gospel, and his family.
We love you little Zane.
Aidyn's been singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame for weeks, so we made it happen. Three new Giants fans today.
Weekends mean Saturday cereal! Riley only eats the marshmallows, and following Hicks tradition, Aidyn requested a Lucky Charms/Cocoa Crispies combo. Gotta train 'em young.
This kid turned 3 a couple of weeks ago. He's hilarious and his smile is super contagious, even with that messy face.
You could say I'm a big fan.
"Everyone squish your face in."
Miles takes everything literally.
"Hold on Dad." This girl is 5 going on 17. Had an awesome weekend in SF. Dinner coasting around the bay, fancy cheap hotel, Bob's Donuts, ice cream, and catching Pokémon (of course). We miss friends, family, and our old house back home. But we are having a great adventure here in NorCal.
Miles makes faces.
Excited to announce that I am joining the Swift Education team at Apple in August, building curriculum to teach people how to build apps.
It's been an amazing two years at DevMountain. I've worked with ridiculously talented people, helping change lives. I am sad to leave, but I am extremely excited to have the chance to help teach tens or hundreds of thousands of students something I love.
Woke up to this: "Look Dad, Aidyn made me like Captain Hook"
Front stage for Good Charlotte at the WWDC Bash. I made fun of it all week, and got in front thinking I'd take one funny selfie and run out, but had an incredible time.
The crowd loved it. First ever WWDC Mosh Pit. Crowd surfers. All in an auditorium full of 2500 iOS and Mac developers. 😛
Yeah, I'm basically 16 again. #youngandhopeless
Soccer season. She's much more engaged than last year, so it's a lot easier to get more active pictures. This was my first shot Saturday morning.
