Fuck your ideas of conventional beauty.
Founder and Editor of The Set Standard.
I’ve always wanted to be a photographer. I still have a lot to learn – especially in the realm of what I want to convey to the world (and, how to use the Adobe suite 🙈). Photographers I’ve idolized over the years - despite their incredible talent - tend to only see beauty in white muscly men who wear androgyny like a costume. I live for men like Jordy here who are unapologetic in their queerness and body and embrace both 24/7 💣🖕🏽👠
I interviewed Laverne Cox last weekend and I’m still glowed up 💋

Thank you for being so patient with me while I attempted to speak to you solely in (broken) Spanish. Thank you for keeping your cats at bay when they all tried to permanently attach themselves to me. Thank you for inviting me to Anonymous Gallery and introducing me to creative and beautiful queers of color in a country wherein I knew no one. Thank you for inspiring everyone around you with your vision and comfortability in your own skin. You are missed by so many, Alan 😢💞🏳️🌈
You’ll float too 🎈
“In 6th grade, I started developing "man boobs", or "gynecomastia", which is the swelling of the breast tissue in boys or men, caused by an imbalance of hormones. I tried to hide my nipples as much as possible. I would always wear wife beaters under my clothes. Today, I take pride in understanding that every part of my body was made specifically for me. I am a decedent of Kings & Queens in Africa — I appreciate my genetic make up. I don't want to change anything about myself because this is me and what society deems attractive doesn't play a role in how I view my personal beauty.” Read more about Ryan’s story on The Set Standard (link in bio).
