We are forged by struggle--from the moment we are born, through pressure, blood and a primal scream as we expel the fluid from our lungs and take our first breath. For our muscle to grow they must be torn down. For our will to strengthen it must be challenged. Nature provides this gift of resistance to all her animal kin. We used to be a part of nature. Now, with dominion over it, and climate control, and grocery stores, and heroes to do our fighting for us at home and abroad... we can go much of our lives without struggle. In worship of the false god, Comfort. And then slowly, from the inside out we begin to rot. Our flesh becomes soft as our character grows softer. Even our love, our passion becomes brittle and dull, like a nail infected with fungus. We turn against ourselves, and eventually life itself. •
We cannot rely on the world to bring us struggle. We must seek it. In the gym, on a mountain, in ceremony, in the ice baths, in the sweat rooms, staying non-reactive in the fire of our emotional triggers. It is the way. It has always been the way. It will always be the way.

Do NOT pace the burpees to take the entire 60 seconds each time. The goal is to make it a series of 10 burpee SPRINTS. Each set of 10 took me 23-25 seconds. Everyone has time in the day to workout. Not working out is a choice. Make a decision to get someone you know off their couch and improve their health doing simple CrossFit workouts. Remember..simple does not mean easy/ineffective.
