Wow! AWESOME JOB!! 💪
In 2009, Veronica and I had over $80,000 in debt (not counting our house). Through fanatical budgeting and my addiction to starting businesses, we paid off every penny of that $80,000 in just under four years. Up next, was our house. While we started with a healthy down payment, we still owed over $200,000 on our mortgage. In January of 2014, We went from a 30-year payment plan to a 15-year. Then, we decided to double down by paying 3-4 times the total of our mortgage payment each month. But last year, we went insane. Instead, of taking big vacations or buying things we didn’t need, we put just about every dollar we made on our mortgage. And today... we’re proud to say that at 32 and 28-years-old, we are 100% debt free!! The Bible says, “Owe no man any thing, except to love each other.” It’s taken us nearly a decade to do it, but there’s nothing like the peace and freedom found in a debtless life. Praise be to God.

Debt free journey update!! So now it’s three months later. I have my emergency fund of $1,000, I have paid off 2 accounts, cash flowed a vacation, and I have got some serious December goals to end this year on a financially awesome note. On the 15th I’ll be paying my personal loans off 6 months earlier than I expected! And on the 30th I’ll be paying off another credit card. After that I will only have one credit card and my car loan to pay off! 🎉🎊🤑🤑 By the time December 31st gets here, I will have paid $8,154.75 towards my debt in only 4 months! That’s just over 20% of my total debt! I can’t lie, it has taken a lot of dedication, but it’s so so so so worth it to me. I think every day about when the time comes in 2019 that I have no debt payments of any kind. That will definitely feel like the biggest pay raise I’ve ever received!
I keep this on my counter in my kitchen. It’s such a great reminder that by doing the right things every day, I’ll get there. The best IS yet to be!🤑🍾🎉❤️. For more info on my debt free journey click the link in my bio!👆 #daveramsey#debtfreecommunity#debtfree#debtfreejourney#babysteps#cashisking

Our hearts ♥️ are filled with joy after opening a letter of our clean, paid off truck title!!! This post is not to boast but to share the truth that we have struggles, debt, worries but that when we let the Lord guide us, when we began consistently tithing we noticed a HUGE difference in our lives. A change for the Best! 💫🙌🏼 All glory and honor to God! “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.”
