Honey, you’re smooth.

@noahgundersen - seeing your music evolve and shift into a new era is bittersweet. Your old tunes carry a weight and hold fast to seasons not easily forgotten (this song included). But your progression is welcomed and wanted, as you explore the art you love with the people you love. And like you said, the people around you deeply matter. Hold onto your people. Thanks for another ear tingling show. Thanks for being the instigator that you are.

When you’re overjoyed and feeling free.

Part II: I took a near exact photo about a year ago to this. A year can shift a hell of a lot in your soul and body. I know I am not the same as a year ago though the image feels all too familiar to a past season of life.

I’ve been reading @brenebrown’s Braving the Wilderness (a must read) and reflecting on experiencing true belonging - the art of living as our true, genuine self which we often lose in seasons of struggle, pain, or doubt. Or when the world’s turmoil wears down our soul.
- - - - - - - - - -
I’ve been digesting this truth: “true belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are.” So much of this text challenges my perspective of individuality within community. We have so much coming together to do in this world; and moving authentically towards each other involves being authentically you (not the you people deem you to be).

I’m a woman with unruly hair and unruly aspirations. And I’m slowly turning those aspirations into reality by entering the wilderness: my truest self. And the wilderness is the most exhilarating to explore. And no one ever said you can’t explore hand in hand with others.

Part I: I can’t wait to show you more from today. This time last year a group of pals and I galavanted around Seattle like tourists. The same occurred today with a dear friend from that collective. She and I have battled through quite a bit together and separately. We both love the thrill of capturing moments through a lens, pillaging book shelves, and sipping on a good cup of chai in the rain. It’s rare we adventure just the two of us - what a treat today has been. What a treat to travel towards those you love.

I live in a beautiful place and when people come to visit (swipe to see who), I become a nerdy tour guide. It’s just too much dang fun to show off this city.
Yesterday was hectic post my serene morning. Morning = golden milk latte sipping, working out with my lovely visitor, and chats about relationships and career goals. Evening = long work day of constant momentum and needs, struggling with focus, and feeling a little run down.
I ended my night chatting with my fitness community which boosted my spirits after the grind (they’re amazing women). And came home to a new book on my doorstep and a sweet letter from my granny.
It’s amazing how the timing of little things and how communicating in community will lift your spirits.
Find your community, keep on keeping on, and remember the beauty that surrounds you wherever you may be.

Midweek self-care: new soft slippers for the season change + sipping on a little wine + roomie time.

Also I’ll be ending the evening with a few face masks (you know, since I’m covered in glitter from holiday prep).

We’re reaching a busy season and personally, it’s a crazy time of year. Working retail is not for the faint of heart during the holidays. Some days are super fun (like today making everything snowy and magical), while other days are exhausting. Hello, on our feet all day running around!

Staying true to my body’s needs in these peak months used to be rough and pretty much non existent. I’m thankful I’ve found a community + routine - incorporated into my existing schedule - that supports what I need. It’s a rad situation (could go on forever about it)!
Everyone deserves care - it’s a non negotiable. Are you able to give yourself care or seek care when needed?

Just when you think you're having the most delightful Monday recouping and relaxing...
wasn't quite prepared for this doozy. Yet here I am, about to start my workout after dealing with phone shenanigans for eons, thankful I have a new device to communicate again with the world. I've never been glued to my phone but it's such a gift to share life with others near and far through technology. Wouldn't you agree?

The foundation of today is always immense gratitude and love. Gratitude towards the continual grace that washes over me. Love for the parents that hoped for me. Love for the God that created me. Love for the community that has shaped and held me. Love for the world that inspires me. Love for the humanity that surrounds me.
With each passing year, my being gets tugged deeper into the grit and needs of this world. It’s been a year reclaiming a lot in my own life and my desire is to move forward in helping others do the same. We all have opportunities to pay it forward but often fear, doubt, and lack of hope strip away our confidence and calling. I’ve been there. And I’m standing up in this year of life and saying hell no to the defeatist mentality and hell yes to marching on.
Deep is calling to deep. Year 27, I’m here.
Let’s do this.

Putting Halloween on hold for Transformation Tuesday. Less than 2 months ago I made a choice to care for my body, daily, inside and out, consistently and whole heartedly. My goal was overall health and to fight my low immune system. Honestly, it was a whim decision in the midst of my wits end.

Come to the present, my ‘boyfriend’ style jeans no longer fit like a tight skinny pant. Simple changes have significantly shifted my body’s ability and how it feels. Plus I’ve found an awesome community along the way! It’s been a dream!

No quick fix to where I am today. It took willingness to commit and drive to continue and people to push me forward. But has been beyond worth it. And now I get to lead others in their own journey!!
