Over the last two and a half years I have had the absolute privilege of working in a job that allows me to spend time with some of the most courageous, positive and fearless kids you can ever imagine. During this time, I have seen parents have their children stolen from them way too early by diseases no kid should have to fight.
I have watched kids go through chemo at the tender age of four and lose the precious years of being a carefree kid. But amongst it all I have seen an unwavering amount of positivity and determination from these families, that no matter what obstacle they come up against they will be okay and there is always a reason to smile. Today I got to witness my second bell ringing, a ritual that is unfortunately incredibly rare. A time when a kid is finally cancer free and can return to live their lives the way they should be, without fear and without having to grow up too fast.
In just over two weeks, I will be moving onto a new job, an extremely bittersweet decision. I will take some incredible friendships that I have forged in the hospital with these beautiful families. I am incredibly fortunate to be moving into a new position where I will be able to give these kids and others the platform they deserve to be heard on. I hope to keep bringing back the heart and soul into fundraising. Here’s to an amazing chapter in my life, one that has changed my outlook on everything. I will be forever grateful for my time here. 💜💕🙌🏾✨ #imnotcrying#yourecrying#fuckcancer#passionproject
