I had the best time at the Skirball Cultural Center with my friend, her daughter (my sons girlfriend) and my son. Very child and mommy friendly! If you are in LA I recommend the trip out there!
If you've ever been curious what the after math of a reiki training looks like, this is it. Pillows under foot and trainees walking around dazed and amazed. It was an amazing experience and journey and I'm looking forward to sharing the gift of reiki healing with you!
This is the reality of being a mom/yogi/yoga teacher. Some days we practice in imperfect places and with our mats being invaded by our little humans.
It doesn't matter as long as that mat gets unrolled. Some days the practice consists of little else besides for a few sun salutations or even just savasana. It doesn't matter. Unroll that mat today. Unroll that mat now.
Nemesis no more! I had a nice surprise when I get up this morning. I rarely step on a scale as I find them to be torture device with the ability to mess with ones emotional and mental well being. But I do from time to time....
At my 6 week post partum check up I was within 5 pounds of my pre pregnancy weight. But then I hovered there for months. I stopped breast feeding and gained some weight back. Then hovered there for months. Then started working out again, and yup-hovered there for some months.
So I decided to surrender all attachment to the outcome. I went back to a higher protein and lower carb lifestyle. Didn't stress. Enjoyed the process. And then this morning was within 2 pounds of my pre pregnancy weight.
So I leave you with this thought. No, weight isn't everything. Weight doesn't convey how much of it is muscle mass vs fat mass. But beyond that a number on the scale doesn't tell the story that I grew and carried a child for 9 months. That my arms lovingly hold him. They're just numbers on an electronic device. BUT if seeing a pleasing number makes one happy then more power to you. And if you need help along the way, I'm here to support you.
