Pantless Media founder, video & photo guy, lost world traveller & all round jerk face.
First bit of proper rest all week and the sun decides to fill my gloomy room with warm light. Beer plz.
Looks like rain.
I've been told that posting selfies helps with the self esteem and makes me look more relatable. Here is me after getting caught in the torrential rain tonight immediately after the power went out. Gotta work on that smile... I do like the glitter-esque beard look tho!
Hey look at that, yet another climbing video!
A couple of months ago back in Perth there was a bouldering competition route at my gym which required a double toe hook in order to complete. At the time I thought there was absolutely no way I could do such a thing. It was way above my skill level. Well, tonight I decided to give it a go and found it wasn't all that difficult. Phew!
That is until I realised I had an audience behind me and my feet started to slip. If I tried to stay up there for a few more seconds, I would have fallen on my face. Damn, should have did it just for the views.
I can Batman! Wheeee!
Couple of weeks into it and I still feel rather awkward and weak on the wall. Given that it's higher than what I'm used to and the mats are firmer due to being practically brand new, my current nemesis is the conflict in my head (it can be a wee bit scary in places). The routes here aren't graded so starting at the easy ones and working my way up isn't an option. Thankfully these challenges are making it extra fun (except for the parts where I hurt myself). Come join me?
I'm back on the wall! It's been roughly 2 months since I last climbed back in Perth and finally my local climbing gym opened their doors - well, kinda. They're still finishing off some last construction and their hire shoes are somewhere between China and Indonesia however if you have your own shoes, you practically get the whole gym to yourself!
Naturally after such a long break it feels like I've forgotten how to climb but I'm more than happy to destroy my healed hands for a good send. Although it doesn't look it, this wall is at a steep angle and the holds are brand new, so the difficulty rating is turned up a notch. All I need now is climbing buddies to join me...

Today I popped over to some of Bali's tourist hotspots, accompanied by mad traffic and selfie stick weilding crowds. In today's Snap story you get to see my sexy legs hidden in a technicolor sarong and a bunch of dudes carrying a massive soccer goal on top of a tiny truck.
20170717 wanderings, watching & waiting.
Today was supposed to be a short one. A quick visit to a new restaurant for breakfast proved to be somewhat of a disaster with incredibly average food served in a very pretty venue. As a leak in my bathroom was being fixed, I went on a short walk to buy butter from the shops, got distracted and ended up walking around Ubud for 3 hours. Found a nice Japanese restaurant and some handy rice field shortcuts. I never ended up getting that butter tho... This is an assortment of pics I saved from my Instagram Story.

A couple of people have said they like my pics in Instagramers Stories but hate using that part of the app. So I figured I'll take my favourites from the day and post them here as standard Instagram posts. Now everyone is happy! Well, except the people who won't be. (BTW there are more mundane pics on my Story so if that floats your boat, go have a look there too)
This is one of the last routes I did at the recent Spicy Boulders bouldering competition at The Hangout. My goal was to place in the top half of the comp but annoyingly I missed out by a miniscule margin. I only started bouldering when I last came to visit Perth so I think I've done pretty well given how recent that was. It was only a few months ago when I was deathly afraid of getting close to the top and I'm now impatiently waiting for the new gym in Bali to open so I can get back on the wall.
This is one of my favourite problems at the gym. Super quick run but only a short time ago we'd be staring at it in utter confusion, trying to figure out how to do this annoying 6-ish move route. Today I do it in 2 moves, skipping half the holds as part of my warm-up. It's always refreshing to think back and realise how much you can improve with time and patience.
