The T51in-ear headphones reside at or near the top of most audio experts’ lists of best on-ear cans, and now Beyerdynamic looks to be doing a wireless version of them with its freshly announced Aventho Wireless headphones.
Like the T51i, the Aventho are powered by Beyerdynamic’s signature Tesla driver technology — which also figures in the company’s top-of-the-line T1 over-ears and its pricey but lovely Xelento in-ears. Most obviously similar is the design, though it’s been enlarged and slightly beefed up for these new, more tech-heavy headphones. Unlike their stylistic predecessor, the Aventho Wireless come with an option for sonic personalization that makes them the vanguard of Beyerdynamic’s new “make it yours” initiative.
Available from October at a $535 price point.
JBL will reveal this huge new Bluetooth boombox at IFA 2017 in a few weeks’ time. The speaker, which kind of looks like an ‘80s-style boombox from the future, would be the largestin JBL’s portable range. It weighs 11.6 pounds, is waterproof (against both spills and immersion), and can reportedly last a solid 24 hours without charging thanks to its massive 20,000 mAh battery.
Great for pool parties and trips outdoors.
This compact device features an incredibly bright 3,000 lumen lamp that projects HD images up to 150-inches in diameter. That’s probably about twice the size of the biggest HDTV you’ve ever seen. It has a massive 19,500 mAh battery that can power 3 straight hours of continuous playback, and dual 10W JBL speakers delivering sound quality that truly surprised us when we tried out our test unit. Also of note, iPhones and Android phones can connect wirelessly to the Mars. So, unlike most projectors, you won’t need to buy or carry another cable to use it.
Nebula likely isn’t a name you’ve heard before, but it is a name you can trust. It’s a new brand owned by Anker, a very highly regarded accessory maker that just about everyone knows and loves. If you’re looking for a portable home theater and not just another tiny smartphone projector, this thing is going to blow your mind.

This is a great amplifier, period. If you are just starting out in HiFi, you can make a pair of single driver, high efficiency speakers, add a source and be digging music on a pretty tight budget that you will really enjoy and our world definitely needs more products like this. And I can’t think of a more fun way to enter the world of vacuum tube audio if you haven’t yet.
