Book #2 in the #ayersreadsbooks2018 is “Front Row Seat: A Photographic Portrait of the Presidency of George W. Bush”
I’m trying to read more inspirational photography books like this one. Like the Obama book (see last book post), it was really fascinating to see a sort of behind-the-scenes view of this presidency. George W. Bush is special to me because his second run was the first time I was able to vote. He also seems like one of the most down to earth presidents I’ve seen. He seems like the kind of guy you could just sit back and have a beer with.
Soaking up inspiration from @jonacuff, I’m going to try reading as many books as I can this year and share them on Instagram. Looks like he’s up to about 150 for 2017. Hey @jonacuff how about if I beat that number for 2018, you share a meal of chips and queso with my family in Nashville?
Book #1 for me is “Obama An Intimate Portrait” by @petesouza. Souza was the chief Whitehouse photographer for @barackobama for all eight years of his presidency. Politics aside, this was a really fascinating look into moments of Obama’s presidency not often seen by the general public. I highly recommend it, especially for anyone who likes editorial type photography. #ayersreadsbooks2018

What a year it has been! On the eve of this New Year, we pause to reflect on all that 2017 has brought — new members and friends, exhilarating experiences, indelible memories and, of course, some magnificent views — while we prepare for the coming year. We have a feeling it will be one of the best yet. #cliffsliving#thecliffs#2017bestnine
This past Saturday I wanted to try and capture some of the fall colors before it was all over. My mistake was that I drove north instead of south. I went to Campbells Covered Bridge but everything was already dead. So I decided to drive back south and hope for some interesting views along the way. I found just a few and will post over the next few days. This first one was a barn right off the highway. The clouds were pretty thick most of the morning but managed to part right here just for a few minutes. I love seeing the mountains behind it. I had to stand on my car and lean over a fence but I love doing stuff like that for a good shot. #mountains#upstate#upstatephotographer#yeahthatgreenville#foothills#fall#northcarolinaphotographer#canon#5dmkIII#lightroommobile#lightroom
