My wife @pastlivesny is redesigning the interior of the studio space and it’s already amazing. She joined the studio last year as our interior designer but now I finally get the chance for her to make this place awesome. It’s almost done!!! That chair is seriously on-brand haha

I partnered up with my buddies at @wnotw and @flexfit to make some killer WNW monogrammed hats. The awesome @trochut @faustnewyork and @martacerda also threw their “hats” in the ring to round out a great collection! If you want one, @wnotw is giving them away on their profile and also at https://magazine.workingnotworking.com/blog/2018/1/12/swag-alert-working-not-working-hats They’re limited, so go go go!!! 🤘

Another great small business I want to highlight in my partnership with @google is my favorite local barbershop. When I first moved out of the city to find a quiet spot to raise my family, the first thing I needed to find for myself was a barber that could replace the beloved shop from my old neighborhood. I found Nick’s Barber Shop in the town of Goshen, a quick trip outside of NYC. Nick of course is the proprietor of this shop, but it’s truly a family-run business. His wife, brother, and sister-in-law are all employees and their work has a reputation that speaks for itself. Every seat is always full and each one of them has an infectious personality that keeps people coming back. If you have a favorite small business, please share some images with #SmallThanks and tag @google. A select few will be considered for marketing support from Google, and as a small business owner myself, I know that every little bit helps! #sponsored

I’ve partnered up with @Google to shine a spotlight on a couple of my favorite small businesses. Waejong and Anna run an amazing knitwear and DIY brand called Loopy Mango (@loopymango) that I’ve been lucky enough to work with over the past few years. They’ve pushed the artistry of knitting to incredible heights and in the last year opened their first flagship store in the small town of Beacon right outside of Manhattan. Not only can you purchase all of their amazing products at this location, but they also host creative workshops in-store and in the studio above the shop. It continues to be a great experience to work with Loopy Mango as they continually outdo themselves in retail and creatively. This is a crazy, quick story. I was just randomly browsing the Instagram explore page and something caught my eye. A tattoo of roses on someone’s hand by @sarahschortattoo with something familiar on the hand. The “Escaping Hell” lettering felt like it was something I did but I had to make sure. After years of doing this, my brain pushes stuff out pretty quickly these days. Sure enough this was the title slide I designed for a lecture I gave about five years ago. It’s amazing how stuff finds it’s way around the internet and into peoples’ lives. Part of me doesn’t even want to know the story of how this guy got this tattooed because it would ruin the magic of mystery and discovery. The roses are pretty sweet too.

Some people ask me, “Jon, why the name Studio Nose?” To which I reply, “No reason in particular.”
