Does anyone have a recommendation for a ranch, hotel or work exchange program in the US (or overseas) that will let me live out my cowgirl fantasies for a week? I've heard maybe Montana or New Mexico? Looking less for a place that offers trail rides and more for a place where we can actually help the ranch hands, see how they drive cattle and/or ride open spaces? (Asking for a friend 😉) #thinklesstravelmore #ranchlands#ranchmade
This weekend was the tops. I got to see my favorite couple @toltzmcgotes and @mcoh and get a few secret friend nuzzles in with Tali @saltandstraw.
Then @jakewatt whisked me away to a vintage airstream in the Malibu canyons for the perfect back-to-the-states staycation in horse country. Oh and a lovely afternoon at @malibuwines - where me, my maxi dress and my cowboy hat fell in love with the dance floor all over again before we got clear and focused for the week ahead at the #MalibuHinduTemple.

Where to next? #thinklesstravelmore
I've been listening to the heebie-jeebie inducing @LorePodcast and the second I stepped into the Pre-Colombian museum I got the tingles all over again. These babies are from 6 - count it - 6,000 BC. And while they were probably built as protective totems, no one really knows who they are...and what they've seen. 👽👽👽 #thinklesstravelmore
I hate this sweater. Jake bought it (I think) in an attempt to prove to the world that it IS possible to weave every single color possible into one jacket. I wear black every day, so this was a bit too much for me. But now...now I love it. Because @jakewatt is definitely my rainbow on a cloudy day. 🌈 Also, #Buchupureo is a god damn (surf) paradise and even though I just tagged it I hope it never gets discovered. #thinklesstravelmore
I snapped this on one of the 9 days I spent in Cusco, hoping that the strike would end and I'd be able to get to Machu Picchu before leaving Peru.
As you can see, it was another swing and a miss. The guy that took us up felt horrible that he he Andy able to get us across the barriers and decided to make lemonade out of a big time 🍋 with a trip to Salinas instead.
Saltiest. Lemonade. Ever. 😉. All that white - that's salt - and they've been using those evaporation pools to nab it since even before Incan times. Also, as a salt enthusiast, this was heaven. #thinklesstravelmore
Mapuche, the name of the pre-columbian inhabitants of Chile means, literally, "people of the earth" and I'm told they were the only tribe in the Americas that were never conquered by the Spanish.
Though they make up a good percentage of the population, they're very secretive - wary of outsiders and unwilling to share their way of life. It was hard to learn more, but I did, by some twist of magic get to meet a #Machi.
Machis are described to me as "the good witch" or spiritual healer in a community. She alone is the master of medicinal herbs, and guides younger women through dream interpretation, weather prediction, warding off evil and curing illness.
I didn't want to get in her face and take a picture, but this snap of their little caravan disappearing back into the forest reminds how lucky I was to have her energy by my side for even the most fleeting of moments. #thinklesstravelmore
