    this is my gorgeous mom, taken ten years ago when she was SIXTY SEVEN. this isn't photoshopped at all, her skin really did look that radiant and unlined, like someone twenty five years younger.

    so cute and tiny, but also so tough that i refer to her tenure at her post-retirement job as "her long dark reign of terror". everything that's good in my life is a gift from her; all my many fuckups are entirely my own and she loves me anyway. i don't deserve my mommy, and i'm so grateful for her.

    happy mother's day to her and all the other women that helped raised me despite my being a giant pain in the ass my entire life: tita sol, maricel, tita @reginadeleon, tita mary ann.

    And lia please NEVER say you were a giant pain in the ass, because you were never that to me nor to any of our family. Nice to hear from you. Keep in touch 😘

    I heard this beautiful song dedicated to mothers during Pastor Joel Osteen, Lakewood Church service today: "You raised me up so I can stand on mountains;
    you raised me up so I can walk on stormy seas;
    I am strong when I am on your shoulders;
    you raised me up to more than I can be."
