“Faith is like the dream in which the clouds open to show such riches ready to drop upon us that when we wake into the reality of nothing more than common sense, we cry to dream again because the dreaming seems truer than the waking does to the fullness of reality not as we have seen it, to be sure, but as by faith we trust it to be without seeing. Faith is both the dreaming and the crying. Faith is the assurance that the best and holiest dream is true after all.” (Frederick Buechner)
Everywhere I live I need a sanctuary: a place where I can process life, walk with God, get outside and just enjoy everything He’s made for us. I think today that I found my new spot. 😍
I’m super impressed with how realistic these water color brushes are in adobe sketch. Even mimicking the water bleed of the colors. I love technology. 😍
I am super thankful for new trails where I can walk under eucalyptus trees and watch Olympic rowers practice in the distance. Peaceful, except for the occasional mountain biker coming at you full speed. 😂
“Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy, for good friends are like the anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s presence.” (Proverbs 27:9)
Happy Christmas weekend. I hope that everyone is enjoying their family and friends. I am taking some time to be thankful for the new season ahead of me and to be thankful for what God is doing in the lives of the people I love. I believe celebration is one of the keys to experiencing joy. Who and what will you celebrate today?
🎵 May your days (& nights) be merry and bright, and May all your Christmas trees be white. 🎶
Vintage covers with type-centric design are always the best. 🖤
I just finished these two and neither were what I expected 😳😂. From the cover I thought The Deal of a Lifetime would be a nice little Christmas novella, but it was not that. I do really love Fredrik Backman’s writing style and the story was good. I will probably try to read some of his other novels soon. I had heard a lot of great things about Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand, and there were parts of the book I enjoyed, but just couldn’t really get into most of it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️each
“for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.” (Luke 1:49)
Same, Mary, same.
Advent day 17: Had this verse pop into my head today: “ You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.” (Psalm 32:7) I love this truth: that God is my safe place and my sanctuary through every transition and season of my life.
