A three day long hiking trip on an active volcano in Lombok. The hardest one I’ve done so far. Climbed up 2800m in total.
We woke up at 2am the first night to ascend Mt Rinjani and watch sunrise.
The path near the top was very narrow and there was strong wind blowing. Couple of us decided to abandon climb to the very top - we didn’t miss much.
Natural hot springs powered by the volcano were another highlight of the trek. Water was really hot, ranging from 60°C up. It took a bit to get used to it.
The trek itself was well organized and made very convenient. We had one guide showing us the way. There were couple of porters carrying food and tents, cooking for us and setting up the tents. I was really surprised by how good the food we were served was.
We went to Jason Polan's art event today. It was fun!
1/ Art supplies ready. Including plush hamburgers.
2/ They were serving pretzels. I drew a journey of one.
3/ Jason was there too!
4/ A woman before me asked for a cat eating a hamburger. I've asked for a hamburger eating a cat. (No worries, they are actually hugging.)
5/ Jason signed his book I got recently.
6/ Photo booth fun!
7/ As a true fan, I took a picture with Jason himself. Sadly it has turned out to be really bad. So the last pic is not real, just a very similar looking one from internet.
Thanks @jasonpolan !
