Author of the international bestseller "My Lovely Wife in the Psych Ward."
Been on a social media break since thanksgiving, and loving it. More time for the important things, like unicorns.
Camping in Arizona for Christmas weekend. Merry Christmas!!!
Thank you so much to the 9,654 of you who voted for #mylovelywifeinthepsychward as the best memoir of 2017 in the @goodreads choice awards. I can’t believe the book has this much support. So thankful. And congrats to @hillaryclinton for winning...needless to say, I am totally fine with losing to Hillary. #imwithher
Super fun Turkey Trot in Bolinas this morning. @gsmile9 won the pregnancy category. Can’t believe jonas made it through all 2.3 miles. Loved hanging out in this place for the last few days.
Sunday fun run in what looks a lot like heaven, I’m guessing.
It’s officially become that time of year when I post pictures of my rain gauge. 2.2” in a 12 hour period is a pretty awesome night of rain. Don’t worry, all of you who I’ve got on the edges of their seats now, I’ll be sure to share monthly totals, comparisons to previous years, you name it. #weathergeek
So this is pretty surreal. @goodreads announced their “best book of 2017” categories, and #mylovelywifeinthepsychward is nominated in the memoir category. Yes, alongside books like Hillary Clinton’s book, and Sherman Alexie’s memoir, and Roxanne Gay’s book....Totally mind blowing. This is the only major book award that is chosen by voting readers, so if you have a minute to spare, it would be amazing if you would head on over to goodreads and vote. I’m so grateful for the amazing support the book has received to even get nominated. Voting for this first round closes on Sunday November 5. Link to vote in bio.
Make believe Halloween: tooth fairy, Harry Potter, unicorn.
I am not very good at mountain biking but I sure do get stoked on it. #kook
Thanks so much to @nytimes for publishing my essay about Halloween, make believe, parenting, and delusions. I love love love the artwork that they made for it. Essay is adapted from #mylovelywifeinthepsychward
Been excited to share this news...#mylovelywifeinthepsychward has been chosen alongside Rachel Khong's "Goodbye, Vitamin" for the 2018 Silicon Valley Reads program, with a focus on caregiving and family. It means I'll get to connect with a whole bunch of folks in Santa Clara in Feb and March of 2018 to share about how caregiving has shaped the experience of family. Really excited for this! I know links don't work on Instagram but it's siliconvalleyreads.org
