Today is international diabetes day. We celebrate the discovery of insulin which is the hormone your body uses to metabolize sugar from your blood.
I was a fan of science before my daughter's diagnosis but now I'm an evangelist. The simple practice of building knowledge from observation and testing has given humanity so much. It's given my daughter a chance at life. And the practice of managing the disease is the process of observation, hypothesis, experimentation and iteration. Science saved her life and keeps her alive. It's a gift for which I'm so grateful. #t1d
