Steph and I cuddled for a few hours. Then I watched in awe as she completed what would be the unthinkable but is somehow the most natural thing I’ve seen. We had our daughter at home after about nine and a half hours of contractions and walks and showers and pushing and groaning and singing (yes). I was with her and so was her mom, whose hand Scout is holding. So were our two midwives @mamacita_kara and @michelle.welborn. Thank you for your incredible service to humanity. Stephanie is a warrior of mind and body. She’s in great shape (for anyone, but especially given what she went through). Scout is 8 pounds 14 ounces. She’s 22.5 inches tall. I can’t wait for tomorrow. And the next day. And the next... (And a serious thank you to our friend @rachelsteed who rushed over and helped us out right afterward, including taking this and several thousand other photos. You’ve been warned.) #thomasbabywelcomes
For those who know us...
I’ll just leave this here for when you’ll need it next. From our primary program at our church a couple weeks ago.
For those wondering how long Marty’s hair is. Best gauged when wet.
Steph is full term on Friday and to give her some space, the kids and I went out for an adventure on Sunday. This is Marty. He climbed the rock on his own in bare feet, no less.
