My Mama: there’s nothing in this Universe I wouldn’t do for her because there’s nothing in this universe she wouldn’t do for me, and she’s done more for me already than I could ever repay her for!
Thanks everyone for your love and support so far and our Estrella is luckily on the mend. Please keep those prayers and good vibes flowing her way for her longer-than-we’d-wish-but-necessary-road-to-recovery ahead.
Her seeing my Brother Michael in the photo with us, and my other brother Alani, with her earlier and me, so happy to be with her since last week, lights her up.
I’m so thankful to everyone who has supported her , our family & me through this.
She’ll be ready for another skydive real soon, God and Universe willing! 💃🏻🐘🙌🏽❤️ #MamaDiaz#Love#ThankYou#Thankful
Freedom is not Free! Thank you is not nearly enough, I thank each and every veteran for their service and especially those who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their lives. America is the land of the free because of the brave! Your sacrifices, each of you, are not forsaken.
Too many in my family and friends to count though I shall try, but all of you and all fellow citizen veterans are my heroes. My heart is filled with love and endless gratitude for each of you! Love each of you and I am thankful for your service and staying safe during it @JessicaDarraugh, Lizz, @JenLHogg, Prima @ChristyToribio, Tio Fausto David, Primo @DavidToribio0, Primo @FaustoToribio, Primo Bernardo, Primo Daniel, Primo @JimmyDTris, @WilkingNunez, @Orley_Pacheco, @therealkallumalu, @yeah_queens , @JohnJourden, @JohnHenrySilva, @NelsonNYC, @SteveGillespieTatoo & In Heaven, Ricky Jones. I appreciate and am forever indebted to each of you!
May we not forget our own, our brothers and sisters who have laid their lives on the line for us. If you want to help check out this list from @GreatNonprofits https://greatnonprofits.org/categories/view/veterans and I've written to soldiers overseas since I was a girl though not enough lately but today reminds Me I and we have to more because those veterans have to know we don't forget our freedom is because of them. and great site I've used to send care packages and letters to soldiers the world over www.anysoldier.com

Make sure you vote today!
We’re lucky enough to live in a Democracy so let’s be sure to use it!
Whatever your views, you don’t really have any if you don’t vote! All votes, for all elected offices and proposals big or small matter.
I personally got to vote today in my small town, in a suburban county for the first time since college, and luckily with our beautiful Hudson River backdrop, and proud of it as I know all votes in the US County. And, yes we honor 100 years of women voting in the US!
We are free because of the brave, so be sure to vote and serve those who serve us! 🇺🇸❤️ #Vote#Democracy#USA#NY#landofthefreebecauseofthebrave#Serve#HonorThoseWhoServe#Love
These two incredible humans have given me more than I could ever give them!
In the stir of the marathon finish and getting Alex back to his hotel, I forgot to gift Alex the hat I’d had made for him that I wore during the marathon so spectators would help push he and I along: “ Alex From Cuba & Melissa”
With our beloved flags: 🇨🇺 Cuba - Alex’s home country from and for which he was running 🇺🇸 USA - the beautiful country that afforded us the blessing and honor of running this wonderful marathon and land of my birth, just as it is the home of the Free and the Brave 🇩🇴 Dominican Republic - the beautiful Caribbean country on the island of Hispaniola, Sister Latino country to Cuba just to the east of Cuba, beautiful country of birth of both my beloved parents, grandparents and family before they all were fortunate enough to come to the USA to build great lives of which I have been blessed enough to benefit
And @AchillesNYC Marathon 2017 on the back
It was with great smiles, Alex, Igor, Ernesto and Alejandro greeted me again last night, I luckily able to also give them photo prints from of the photos we took at the Achilles Dinner, before and during the race.
I wished them well on their journey home to Cuba, departing today Tue & on the upcoming Havana Marathon on November 19 they will participate in, which they said they can’t wait for but will surely be worldly different from the NYC marathon.
And, I thanked them finally for allowing me to be present in their dream, to run the International, US @NYCMarathon.
Where there is a will, there is definitely a way. I’m forever humbled and grateful for this and all the experiences of love and honor I’m able to contribute to daily, big and small.
I’ll never forget and will try to remind as many people, and hopefully each of you reading this far down, that we’re truly here to love one another. If we can love ourselves first, we’ll be able to love others. And, with the love for ourselves we can find peace within and I’m unofortunately forgetting who said it but give credit that “if everyone found peace within we would have world peace” 🌎❤️ #Blessed#NYCMarathon#AchillesInternational#VeganRunner#PlantBased#NYC#Love
Go USA! Yesterday, on a dark US day in Texas in NYC beautiful, inside and out Shalene Flanagan, who I’ve previously had the pleasure of seeing run up close previously and who ran by me yesterday in the marathon, won the amazing international TCS New York City Marathon, against odds!
Just as all runners and those cheering on support one another in this great race, may we Americans love one another and beat out the darkness with our light and love! 🏃🏼♀️🇺🇸🙌🏽❤️ #OurHeartsAndPrayersWithTexas#NYCMarathon#NYC#Repost@ShalaneFlanagan We did it 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #USA
We are each blessed and our minds and hearts will let us accomplish anything!
To be beside a man for a full 26.2 miles and to see him accomplish, as he said, his dream, to run across the @NYCMarathon finish line, his first international marathon, for his first time in the US was so amazing for him and certainly for me, completely humbled.
The impossible became possible with Alex(ander) Garcia Sanchez! He is a twin, who’s leg was lost from complications at birth in Havana, Cuba and has been told so many no’s throughout his life but in his early 20s met other handicapped athletes and began running races including marathons almost, and on this November 5, 2017 at age 42 finished his first international marathon the @NYCMarathon!
It was so wonderful for us both to see and receive love from so many strangers, and me even lucky enough to see faces of some of those I know beautiful @GraceRoselliStudio in Williamsburg, fellow @TriLatinoTriathlonClub teammates running along the course and more!
I’m forever humbled and honored to have been touched by Alex and to be a part of him touching so many on the Marathon course yesterday!
God is so good! The Universe absolutely has our back. Heaven is here on earth if we choose to realize it because our love and blessings here are infinite!
I’m SO thankful to the @AchillesNYC & International organization that supports these amazing athletes including Achilles Athlete Kathleen I’m thankful to for introducing me to guiding!
I’m thankful to my Darling Love, @Glenn_Hans12 for being my sight for very sore eyes after finishing last night-his having to navigate our many delays but that with beautiful flowers and my favorite vegan dinner on the UWS was all, again, truly heaven on earth with him!
Finally, I’m thankful to all my family and friends for all your support always! I love you all forever and you all make me strive to be better every single day! ❤️ #Blessed#NYCMarathon#NYC#Havana#Cuba#Boston#BostonGirl#USA#AchillesInternational#Achilles#OurHealthIsOurWealth#TriLatino#Triathlon#Marathon#Vegan#VeganRunner#PlantBased#SeeYouInAprilBostonMarathon#LightOvercomesDarknesss
AND just like speedy Ivette and I ran 5K to the NYC marathon finish line with thousands of other runners! Such a wonderful blessing to be able to run!
Tomorrow, 26.2 miles more for me guiding amazing Alex!
Yay for the blessings of good friends, family and ability! Our minds can take us anywhere! Happy Saturday and a Happy Life! ❤️ #OurHealthisOurWealth#Blessed#NYC#Latinas#MUEVETE
Well, inspiration is an understatement!
I finally had the pleasure tonight of meeting Alex, just to my left in this great group photo, who’s traveled to NYC from Havana, Cuba to run 26.2 miles through the 5 boroughs and I will have the honor of running beside him as his guide this Sunday! Alex lost his right leg at birth and has been running all almost-43-years of his life since. He traveled with Achilles International Cuban teammates, Igor, also a single leg amputee, Ernesto a blind runner, and their trainer and coach Ernesto! I’m humbled to meet these amazing humans and can’t wait for the blessing of running the NYC marathon with Alex on Sunday! ❤️ Thanks to Kathleen for introducing me to Achiles, as she prepares to run her next NYC marathon as an Achilles Athlete with two great guides on Sunday! And thanks to @rorobk1226 for this great photo of us, also supporting the Achilles team Sunday!
Light will overcome Darkness! Only love can overcome hate! ❤️ I'm so blessed and thankful to be safe when terror struck very close to me today. Thank you to all who reached out and I hope all of my other NYC friends and their families are safe.
On what is supposed to be a Happy and Fun Holiday the city I've called home and where I work for many years now and a fellow American city to all of us here in the US has been terrorized today, only blocks from my office building that went into emergency mode until the attack was contained.
My heart and prayers are with the victims of today's NYC terror attack. ❤️ Halloween is a Happy Holiday in my mind. I dressed up today as the Honeybadger Baseball Team MVP and had fun with skeletons and other co-workers who dressed up--and plenty who just dressed up as themselves.
Halloween is nothing but Happy Memories for me growing up in Halloween Mecca Salem, Massachusetts and so many great memories celebrating it here in NYC.
So I'm going to hang on to those Happy Memories tonight, share them, continue to wish everyone a Happy Halloween, and pray we can all live safely in our fragile existence in this sometimes seemingly crazy world. God Bless you and yours. 🎃❤️ #PrayingforNYCTerrorVictims#LightConquersDarkness#LoveOverHate#HappyHalloween🎃#HappyMemories#Love#MM
Wishing the Happiest Birthday to a wonderful Father @UraneyESoto who I’m so blessed and proud to have in my life, and my youngest little sister Nadaly, who is just one of the sweetest and brightest lights in all our lives!
You both have the best Double-Birthday ever and I thank God you were both born and we’ve been able to share so much together.
Can’t wait to see you both tomorrow for another Spooky Birthday celebration together! 🎂🎂🎃👻💗💙❤️
