Long day finally ended.. 9am to 7.30pm is no joke. Got toasted by the sun, but greeted with hues of sunset to end it off. Grateful for the fine weather, and hope the skies will be kind to us for the next few weeks~ #chingay2017
Wah!!! Look what i found while doing some packing of my room! Nostalgic max! Still could roughly remembered the shit i went through when i got my results. A score of 192. If im a child of today, most probably i would be on the chopping board, shamed thru social media, or even worst, disowned? 😂😂😂 But right now, im grateful to be earning a living thru my passion. Love the buddies i made at a neighbourhood secondary and still in close contact with them. Loving my family and life and pushing my own boundaries to achieve even more! This piece of paper now, is just part of my own memory land. It did determine which were the schools i could go for, but it did not determine my own future. I applaud parents who teach "life lessons" to their child, that theres more to academic scores.
Whats the essence of education, whats the purpose of having education. Is it to compete to get into the best schools or get the best grades? If it is, then i guess we as a nation, as a parent, as an individual, still have much to learn and allowed our ego to take over our lifes.
A quote from my mentor in life Daisaku Ikeda states "The more knowledge one gains, the more important becomes the question of what that knowledge will be used for. Knowledge without wisdom and philosophy producers nothing more than talented beasts." So question is, have we progressed or regressed? ◡̈
