Hoping we can take this little guy back to #Montecito soon. Thank you for being there for us this week. I’m overwhelmed by all of the love and concern everyone has expressed for our family. We are doing okay. We don’t yet know how our home lasted through the storm because the National Guard has restricted access to the area. We live about 1/4 of a mile from where the flood waters drained into the ocean. Hopefully, that small distance saved our home.
I can’t stop thinking about how many lives have been changed by the events of this week. There is no place on Earth I feel safer than in Montecito. It’s hard to imagine it without power, water, gas, and almost entirely shut off from the rest of the world. 100 homes were destroyed and 400 more are damaged, 18 people are dead and many more are still missing. I can’t wrap my head around those numbers.
Thank you for being there for me and my family, it means the world to us.
My heart is with #Montecito. This small beach town has blessed me with the best memories of my life. It is heartbreaking to see it under water and mud after fearing it almost lost to fire just a few weeks ago. My thoughts are with all of the families who have been impacted by the devastation of the past month. While this may be a dark moment, I know it will pass and Montecito will grow stronger and shine brighter than ever before. ❤️
