Its been an awesome time here in Hawaii! Working and living with the people in Waialua, visiting by kayak “the Mokes”, climbing ridges barely large enough to walk on higher than the Haiku stairway to heaven, snorkeling with Honu (turtles), and just plain taking time to relax, talk to God and listen, its been great! Heading home tomorrow,so, Mahalo nui loa Oahu! See you again in April😎

Today we hiked the Moanalua Trail that leads to the top of the Haiku Stairs or Stairway to heaven. It was an amazing hike that lasted about 8 hours. Hiking up the many ridge trails, literally pulling ourselves up ropes to get up extremely slippery trails and being careful not to slip off the narrow ridges we were walking on. We climbed over 3600 feet today, kinda straight up, haha! After making it to the top we were absolutely blown away with the views of both sides of Oahu. We slipped a few times, I was totally dirty from the mud but moved beyond words with the grandeur of the experience. Our legs are like noodles right now but it was worth it! Thanks Grant for the heads up on this one!!!

About a week ago I just arrived here on the North Shore to work with the staff at Waialua High School. I never know what to expect when I visit places like this but from day one I felt part of the school and community. Here, they take great pride in O’hana, family, and that feeling permeated this place. Once a rural Sugar Cane focused area its now changing as Hawaii has pretty much abandoned this industry. So, a slow and maybe a bit frightening change is coming over this amazing North Shore destination as jobs change, property values soar and new people become anxious to live this Aloha Life style. I could go on forever about this but just wanted to say thanks to these people and this place for slowing me down and helping me refocus, once again, on what life’s about, those two words, O’hana and Aloha, say it all. I had some time to put the brakes on things, to hike in beautiful places, to swim with sharks in crystal blue water, paddle to an offshore Island, to sit on the beach and just listen to God talk in ways that you just can’t at home. So, Mahalo to this place, to the people who grew up here, to be able to listen as they “talk story” and share why this place needs to stay as it is, a place that reminds you of what this life should be about. See you soon, Ive got three more days to soak all this up, to listen , learn, watch and relax! Ferris Bueller said it best “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

A real man is the kind of man that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says Oh Crap, he's up! LIife is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat u right. Forgive the ones who don't just because you can. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Take a few minutes to think before u act when you're mad . Forgive quickly. God never said life would be easy . He just promised it would be worth it. A real Brother walks with u when the rest of the world walks on you. Remember, God love you and there is nothing you can do to change that!

Just sitting here having a little lunch with Jesus! Before eating the Poke Bowl I bought, while sitting in my favorite downtown spot, I asked God to continue to push me forward and asked a kind of random request. I asked if He would steer someone my way who needed some food as Id like to give half of it to someone hungry and in need of knowing Him more. Well, the food was great but no one was showing up when out of nowhere a guy named James walked up asking for a quarter for food. At first I thought it was just another one looking for money for whatever. So, I offered him my Poke Bowl and he looked at me and said, "Really? No one here cares about anyone here Im so glad I met you! God bless you, could you pray for me?" Well, I just about fell over, God did just what I asked and took me up on my offer! James and I talked, prayed and hugged and he was on his way! Still a bit amazed. Holy you know what James just came back by ....hangon,,, James came, sat down asked for more prayer with a beer in a brown bag, ready to open. He asked that we met again so he could pay me back someday. We talked about God, courage and what life should be about. We prayed some more and God just shook him up. He threw his beer away and said God just gave him all he needed, hope and love. Never expected this to happen today! God you are one rad Father! My day is made!🙌🏼

A good friend of mine has recently joined a peacebuilding and humanitarian organizaion in Beirut, Lebanon. He will be a participant in something known as SALT (Serving and Learning Together). He will be working to assist alleviate tensions and reduce poverty in Lebanon and surrounding countires. Ben will be leaving Huntington Beach soon, where he grew up and went to school, to become part of this team as he has a deep passion for the Middle East and hope to play a small part in improving livers there.
Why am I posting this? Well, Ben is an amazing young man with so much to offer this world that I want to support him in any way achieve this dream and goal. You can help in a number of ways; first of all through prayer as this is a life changing journey for Ben. Please join him in this effort. Secondly, you can donate to his fund. Ben is required to raise $5500+ which is roughly equivalent to 1/2 the cost of his year in Lebanon. Currently he needs about $2000 by mid August. So, would you please consider helping Ben Drolet achieve this goal. You can donate at this address...

Feel free to call me if you have any questions regarding Ben and this amazing and life-chaning journey he will soon be on!

God Bless! The link is in my bio!
