Driving time today allowed me to FINNISH the excellent audiobook of Neil Gaiman's "Norse Mythology." Thanks to @strengthhaven for the rec. Now I need to get DANE with the current season of Vikings, eat some ox meat, and throw a hammer. #TwøYölksBœklub #Nørge

TwoYolks Book Club Men's Div.: Jim Crumley's "The Wrong Case." At or near the top of the rich, hard-boiled American literary Jims pantheon along with Thompson, Ellroy, Cain and Harrison. RIYL Hammett and Chandler, and if you don't, then you're banned.

I got a new skullcap at the Arnold Classic from #Ironville. Also featuring their "Depth Before Dishonor" t-shirt. I have a deal with them where I give them money and they give me an excellent product. In the biz world it's known as a "reverse sponsorship." It's pretty cool. #Ironville #GenghisShawn #TwoYolks #Squat

TwoYolks Book Club (Open Div.): Irish author Frank Delaney died this week. He was an excellent storyteller and his "Re-Joyce" podcast on Ulysses was scholarly, witty and deep, as befitted its subject and its host. God bless Frank Delaney. #irishliterature

Some call her Prowler, but I know her as Li'l Nellie, the namesake of Nellie the Concord HS FB blocking sled. I haven't seen the original Nellie in decades, although I heard she went to a sunny farm up in Michigan where she can run in the flower pastures. #Nellie #CHSFB #SPR51 #conditioning #LilNellie

TwoYolks Book Club (Open Div.): Mary Doria Russell's "The Sparrow." After jumping a few new birthday buys ahead of it, I resumed this and polished it off to cap a nice weekend with plenty of uninterrupted reading time, much of it outside. This is a gem amid the sci-fi slag heap. A Jesuit-led mission to another planet yields more questions than answers. But they're big questions. It contains Judeo-Christian concepts, so it's not for the Neil "camerahound" Tyson crowd or New Yorkers.
