PLS. READ: SENDING OUT A MAJOR LOVE On December 18th, my birthday, I am donating my time (along with my friends who wants to volunteer) to walk on the cold streets of downtown Toronto to distribute special gifts to the homeless. It will be cold. It will be dark. But for one night, in lieu of birthday gifts and a party, I am giving up the comforts of my home and a bar knowing I can bring warmth and brightness to the young people who need it most. For me to accomplish this goal, I am soliciting any material donations small enough that we could carry in boxes for distribution. It can be small denomination gift cards (ie: Tim's, Starbucks), blankets, basic clothing for warmth (scarf, gloves, socks etc.), hygienic products (soap, shampoo, lotion etc.), TTC tokens or anything small enough you can think of that we can distribute especially for the homeless youth. Please reach out to me and I'll try my best to pick up the items before December 18th or setup a drop off point. Any items that were not given away that night will be donated to The @covenanthousetoronto
I've also setup a direct link to The Covenant House for monetary donations: http://www.covenanthousetoronto.ca/ronbat
WHY AM I DOING THIS?
10,000 kids spend some time living on the streets of Toronto each year. For three decades, Covenant House Toronto has offered some 90,000 homeless kids the opportunity and hope to move from a life on the street to a life with a future. There are countless more out there that need our help.
As Canada's largest homeless youth agency, Covenant House Toronto changes lives by providing the widest range of services and support under one roof. A national leader, we educate and advocate for change to help at-risk, homeless and trafficked youth by influencing public policy and delivering prevention and awareness programs. By participating in this event I am doing my small part to make sure the doors stay open for all who need them. #charity#payitforward#blessed#thankyou#toronto#the6ix
