No beginning, no end, and yet we’re always “running out of it.” Time is the falsehood around which life revolves.

“My child arrived just the other day//
He came to the world in the usual way//
But, there were planes to catch, and bills to pay//
He learned to walk while I was away//
And, he was talking 'fore I knew it, and as he grew//
He'd say, ‘I'm gonna be like you, Dad//
You know, I'm gonna be like you.’”

This is my friend (and talented artist), Tina. She works in HR, which is one of the most important functions in any organization, because a company is only as good as its people. Tina took me on a photo walk around Shenzhen this weekend, and I took this portrait of her. The backdrop reminds me of a future that we’re constantly dreaming of, yet ironically, she’s holding a film camera. When I look at this picture, I’m reminded to never look too far ahead, or too far behind myself. To appreciate the opportunity to exist here and now. Thanks, Tina!
