@libbybrittain yes! These are halved. I love cooking them mostly while so you get all the carmelized layers. Also makes it a thing you can just eat on it's own rather than an addition to a meal.

Have literally never thought to sauté them whole. I only ever slice into thin strips. Good?

mini shallot tarte tatins for thanksgiving! did u know: a tatin is basically an upside down tart that was invented at the Hotel Tatin in France. The hotel was owned by two sisters, one who managed the hotel and the other managed the restaurant. Legend has it the pan of apples she was cooking started burning so the chef threw the pastry dough on top of the pan to save it and then finished it in the oven. I will probably make some more of these tomorrow, so follow along on snapchat (same username) for step by step instructions.

apple & cauliflower soup with toasted almonds. I think I added a little too much apple because it had a slight grainy, applesauce-like texture but still good! 🍎 #fallcooking

I have a mixed relationship with NYC. I'm not always in love with it, but when it comes down to it and your country lets you down; I feel very fortunate and lucky to be in a city as progressive and diverse as NYC right now. #ilovenewyork #lovetrumpshate #nyc #unionsquarewall

Pretty proud of this one! Mongolian beef + improvisational pomegranate seeds because I love the winning combo of pomegranate and meat.
