I first met this kick-ass lady back when we were in first grade, when her older sister found me crying one day after school and called her over to keep me company. I still remember it, how she walked to where I was, all confused but trying to help anyway. A little girl my age but with a lot less fear. She didn't laugh at me for crying.
That started a friendship that lasted until I first left for the US. She heard every childhood secret I had to share -- the light, silly ones and the serious, painful ones. She was the one who taught me how to ride the bike. She also had a hand in getting me together with my childhood boyfriend 😉. Then I moved away. And then *she* did.
It was so good to see you again @chira_candramanon . 😘 Have a great trip back; let's not wait so many years for the next meeting. ❤️.
Fifty-four years ago, two people from a small village in a West Sumatra came to Bandung to make this city their home. Their five children grew up here -- a big chunk of that time spent on the greens of Bumi Sangkuriang -- and all have since left to build lives elsewhere. This weekend, we're back together. Happy birthday, Mama. ❤️ We love you.

Country Loaf with 48% Kamut (because that was all I had, haha). 87% hydration.
Pizza day! I did the dough (using 100% natural yeast), and the niece, nephew + friends did the topping. The dog just hung out. 🐶❤️ @diandra_dw
