Is it even Autumn if you haven’t taken a similar picture yet?
Sunday’s are for cosy cashmere and long dog walks. I’ve felt a little under the weather this weekend so I’m writing this from bed and trying to muster up the energy to cook myself some dinner. Thank goodness it’s Sunday, I need to hit the ground running tomorrow; so much going on at the moment. I’m both thankful and exhausted.
5 years without my beautiful Mum - I was just sitting here quietly getting on with my work and there was a knock at the door from the lovely Jenny at Out Of The Earth in Southend, and my darling Dad has sent me this gorgeous bunch of flowers to say he’s thinking of me today. He’s stuck at work and we would normally have lunch together today. I’m so thankful to have at least one parent left and more thankful that we went through that awful experience on that day, together rather than alone. Love you Mum, and I know you wanted me to change your FB status to “chilling with Jesus” if you ever died but I still haven’t quite mustered up the courage to do that yet, not everyone shares our sense of humour! ❤️😘
When you don’t call your mates before the big event to check what colour your dresses are and you end up looking like a classical girl-band. 😆😂🙈
Starting to feel Autumnal in my house. I redecorated my living room to Peignoir by Farrow & Ball, it’s this gorgeous soft pink colour. I’m enjoying a room that’s lighter since the rest of my house is mainly dark (Railings by @farrowandball too). Looking forward to lighting this fire over the next few weeks and settling down into the new season.
Thank you all for your birthday wishes yesterday. I celebrated by drinking gin. Lots of it. 🎈🍰
The calm before the storm this morning. I’m sitting prepping for #aeachi tomorrow, updating some slides, removing stuff that seems to not flow naturally on stage whilst drinking my body weight in peppermint tea. #aneventapart#aeachicago
Yesterday my beautiful Mum would have been 61 - thank you to all those friends who sent lovely messages - it's always needed. A few weekends ago my Dad delivered me a huge box of old photographs of Mum as a little girl. I've never seen them before. It's been one of life's great pleasures to spend some time selecting my favourites to go on my living room wall. I cherish stuff like this and love our similarities. Mum, I love and miss you every day. It never gets easier 😢❤️🌹
I think my Mum would have been proud of me for this one, she would have loved to have seen me in something for my hometown of #southendonsea. The #saltofsouthend book launch this week was a really lovely way for me to fly the tech flag high, a little closer to home. 👉🏻Blog post and more pictures up on sazzy.co.uk.
When you don't like the imagery your supplier sends you, so you grab your pink colorama, your good camera and lights and then sit in Lightroom until you're happy with the results.
I'm kind of pleased with myself that I discovered Davines a few years back whilst walking around NY. They've now become a bit of a cult brand in the UK and it's easy to see why. Cruelty-free, Vegan-friendly aside from 3 products that contain silk proteins...it was a no brainer choice for my salon @blushbar, even though it's way more expensive to use, the quality is unrivalled.
If you're looking to try Davines I highly recommend Love Smooth as a starter. That's what got me hooked.
Nothing makes me more happy than a tidy home. I'm not naturally particularly tidy but I love the feeling of everything having its place around the house. Now, I'm just looking for office inspiration - my office needs a makeover and for once, I'm struggling with ideas. I hate anything ikea-ish or brand new; I prefer to opt for older stuff that doesn't need to look pristine at all times. Excited to get the house looking 👌🏼for Autumn now.
So lovely to be featured in the #saltofsouthend for #southendonsea and attend their launch this evening. Thanks to all at @justgrowco for the creative and the amazing storytelling by @iansanders. Honoured to be a part of this amongst some other lovely Southenders. Very happy to be the poster-child of tech for the borough! 🙌🏼
That is one gloomy looking sky over Southend today. Since the kids got out of school for the Summer it's done nothing but rain 😩😩I think I need to invest in some wellies now.
