This semester, I have been working on many pieces that have a connection to who I am. Among them all, this selection hits home with me the most.
Love is the most universal and beautiful experience life can offer. Everyone deserves to feels the power of love, no matter their race, gender, sexuality, or religion. When it all comes down to it, we only lead one, small life. Let’s make worthwhile and live for something, live to do good for other people and for the world. It’s way more fun to love people than to be hateful and spread negativity. “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” -Corinthians 13:7
No more hate. Just love.
Today at the Homecoming Football Game, I received the Freeman Student Athlete Award for having the highest GPA on the cheerleading team my junior year. One of my best friends, Tim, also received an award! Congrats buddy! #gracelandforever
Living with depression has given me many hurdles to jump over. So far, I have handled them and pushed forward. But some days, my head hangs under clouds of darkness. This cloud has left me with feelings of sadness, low self-esteem, lack of joy, and lack of motivation. Over the past few years, these clouds have appeared less often. I’ve seen more sunny days than ever before. These days give me more hope in a better tomorrow, hope in a day that depression will be far off in the distance. But the clouds still linger closely.
This illustration is a symbol to the hurdles that I and many others face during times suffering depression. For those suffering, don’t hesitate to reach out to a loved one or call a hotline.

I’m not the best painter, but I really enjoy this quote. Here’s another low quality painting with a high quality quote. “I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning to sail my ship.” -Louisa May Alcott
Happy Birthday to this special gem, @gabiraee! I'm so grateful to call you my friend and for all the memories we've made together! Can't wait to see you soon and cheer with you for our senior year! Hope you have the best birthday. ❤️
It's been awhile since I've painted it done anything with typography. This past year has been a struggle for me in a number of ways and has been hard to keep going at times. This painting project of mine has been a good start to get motivated again. Go like my design page! #Repost@summeroftype (@get_repost)
Very seldom do I do painting projects, but here you go! This past year has been a roller coaster. This quote reminds me to keep hanging on. #typography#type#quotes#watercolor#design#inspiration
I've never been to a Pride Festival until now. Being able to go to a place where many people are like me and having the opportunity to be myself has been so great. Houston Pride Festival 2017 🏳️🌈❤️#unlimitedpridehou
My grandpa is the only father figure I've had all of my life. He is the only father figure I've needed. Happy Father's Day, grandpa. Love you! #throwback
Also want to give a shout out to this important guy. Although I was a self starter as a graphic designer, Eli Loving has played an integral role in my success and the renewed success of the Graceland University Graphic Design program. There aren't enough words to describe how much Eli's knowledge and wisdom have meant to me. Soon, he will be dawning on a new chapter of life, I wish him the best of luck and am thankful I've had the privilege to call him my professor, mentor, confidante, and friend. Thank you for everything.
I'm truly honored to get the Van Biber Graphic Design Award for my typography series, Azuline. With a little hard work and determination, great things can happen. I spent a lot of time working on this font. I'm grateful for the recognition. ❤️
