I've moved to Flickr. You should go there if you want to see my recent photos. Instagram has demonstrated they believe possession is nine tenths of the law. It's sleazy and creepy. There are plenty of platforms that use advertising effectively while also being respectful of their users. I have befriended some really amazing, talented people here and that is the part I am going to remember.

@markstreck Well, someone has to be sentimental for the rest of us. 😜 There are many cemeteries throughout Europe I wish to visit. Agreed, Catholic (and Jewish) cemeteries are pretty amazing. So many stories.

I am very sentimental :) but I see what you mean. Have you ever been to PΓ©re-Lachaise in Paris? It is the most beautiful place I've seen (I haven't been mountain climbing much). Old Catholic cemeteries are often out of this world.

@markstreck I can't quite explain why I like exploring cemeteries. The typography is fascinating, but it's a lot more than that. And I am not a very sentimental person. This cemetery is the oldest in town. The first grave is from 1864, so not exactly old by European standards.

@calimex Thanks, it was about 34 degrees F. I had to take my gloves off so this shot is a little shaky. I am such a wimp in the cold weather. Might be time to invest in a tripod!

I love cemeteries too! And this shot and agree with @calimex about the story. :)

Wandering through Hargadine cemetery at sundown. I was attempting to take additional photos of some curious grave markers when I noticed four young does nearby. As I tried to get closer they noticed me and fled. That's when I realized someone watching me from her backyard. Turns out one of the does is injured and she was worried about that. We got to talking about my interest in cemeteries and wildlife. She told me about her father who was electrocuted in 1966 while working at a power substation.

@frotus Right? It looks like it's a construction site but nothing has changed since they put up the fence over a month ago. When it stops raining I might try sneaking in.

I know a place not far from here
It's not far away, love, but if you come
I know a place where we'll be alone
And we'll talk of life, the way love used to be

I know a place not far away
And we'll find a way through the city streets
We'll find a way through the mad rushing crowds
And we'll talk about the way love used to be

I know a place not far from here
It's not far away, love, but if you come

I carefully laid my jacket on the chair nearest the door and nervously checked the pocket to see that the tape recorder was still running. The ringing excitement of eavesdropping hummed though my delicate body. A great armed mass of darkness fish was approaching. I had the girl, the records, and the jeweled knife, but he had the time machine.

@mcr_manc No, it was originally an exquisite corpse story that was written online. Search for brainwashed.com and any of this text and you'll find the entire story.

As I was about to walk home from the pharmacy I noticed this curious alley between the pharmacy and another shop. Must have walked past a dozen times and never saw it before. It's quite narrow and I have decided it's a rabbit hole for humans. There is some hand painted lettering on the wall which I tried to enhance. My sister is taking a break from chemo. we will reassess in two weeks.

I have forgotten how long it can take to do most things if you're sick. Getting out of bed, cleaned and changed seem like nothing, right? Being healthy, we take this for granted. Suddenly now even these basic tasks are not so simple. And before you realize, it's already time for dinner! Then the cycle repeats. It literally is like pushing a rock up a hill every day.

Waiting to see the oncologist. I was sat on the other side of the room because there was a full house but this moment when my mom was talking with my sister while she looked out the window at the pond outside felt like an oasis. Maybe this is a good example of #ipresstheshutter when I see a moment that tells a story.
