“This was taken on a Wednesday night after a grocery run in town. You don’t get these views out in the middle of the city! I was pretty tired for work the next day but it was worth it. I’ll never get tired of happy accidents.”

“He’s a man outstanding in his field.
Like my bio says...I love puns. This was shot under a cool sky that I couldn’t resist taking pictures of. My brother always seems to be up for a fun evening of modelling.”

Long post alert: As I have been testing the waters, trying to decide what direction I want to go with my blog, I've discovered a passion. A passion for this business, a passion for this lifestyle, a passion for the community it creates, and for how it can bring us together. A passion for "AGvocacy", and of course, my passion for food and photography. And well, here we are, a fresh start for the sJs blog - - where we will be exploring how we bring our farm to your plate!
“Professional bull rider Tyler Thomson rides in the Brahma Rama in Elnora, Alberta. Thompson maintained a high score of 83.5 during the event’s first round. These event standings go towards the Canadian Finals Rodeo. I was brave enough to sit by the gate while this was all going down.”

“Meet Lane. Lane loves cows. This was taken on a routine ‘Cow Tour’ - as he likes to put it. These are some of the best moments on the farm.”

“#Harvest17 was in full swing at home during early September. Here’s a picture of dad checking all the chaff coming out the back end of the combine while I was in the cab. Wheat is fun.”

That face expresses the bewilderment, wonder, excitement and conviction that came along with the @albertaAg "bridging the Gap" workshop.
Food and Health safety is a major component of any food business and doing it right is key. The GAP program is a very intensive, thorough way to manage the food safety of a farm food business, which is why I attended the workshop yesterday to see if GAP was right for us. A great learning experience and I can't wait to start applying some of what I've learned into YYC Growers now and start building up for an even better future.
Thanks Alberta Ag for offering this.
