You know what will humble your ass??? Deciding to go for an early morning run on a poorly ploughed, snow filled, somewhat slippery country road!!! 🤦🏻♀️🇨🇦🤪
But since I’m not one to turn down a challenge and im a little bit crazy—-I did it anyway.....!!!! ❄️❄️👊👊
The good news is, I didn’t get run over by a snow plow or break an ankle...!! 🤣😘😊
// one little mile today. I have been dealing with stupid plantar fasciitis since my 5K last weekend. I finally get rid of my shin splints and now this 🙄 gonna do what I can and keep it slow. 🏃🏻♀️#justkeeprunning#amileisamile
I used to just share my best run times because I was most proud of those. Now I also share the ones that I kick myself because I know I’m faster and stronger than what the stats show.
But I have to be real with myself and acknowledge that I’ve come a long way from where I started. My first 5K I thought I’d die and it took me almost double the time of this run today.
This post is for every woman out there striving to run 1 mile, because at the end of the day a mile is a mile no matter how fast or how slow. Be proud of getting off the couch and moving your body! 👏🏽
I know I’m not winning any timed races but I am winner for being active and living a healthy lifestyle. AND If you made time to be active today you are winning too! 👏🏽
So sending virtual ✋ to all the winners out! And be sure to double tap so I can see you!
Thursday Love 💝 ...and that in itself is a daunting, albeit exciting thought for those who dare to race. The beauty of life’s race is that there is no competition with anyone else. Nobody wins or loses. Everyone finishes at some point in infinite eternity at their own pace and yet each mile brings its own patch of sky - rainbows and dust and rain, who knows? Moments of gold and gain or cold moments of pain. The only thing that is certain is that every new mile will bring its own lesson, it’s own blessing and this cycle will repeat itself so that we continue to evolve into our truth, all in the fulfilment of destiny.
Ok so this in itself is quite heavy. It took me a moment to process and I wrote it. 😐
Sally Chiwuzie here, sunglasses on indoors, in winter in the dark. Whilst on a journey of self (re)discovery, you do whatever it takes to inject a bit of lightheartedness to life’s graveness. Dream chasing and legacy building are on track. Continuous improvement reminds me that it’s ok to stop to catch my breath, to admire the view, to sprint a mile, walk the next - etc; whatever it takes because in the grand scheme of things, there is no finish line.
Be unshakable. Be in truth with yourself. Love yourself.
Lots of love,
Unshakable Sally xxx
