I picked up two book marks and one postcard from the Harry Potter exhibition last week. I really loved the Astronomy room, if I never went into Publishing, Astronomy would have been my second career! I find space so fascinating! Out of interest, what would be your career, if you weren't in the job you are today? ☺️
I went to the British Library's Harry Potter exhibition on Friday evening. We're not allowed to take photos (unfortunately) so this is one of the house banners in the entrance room.
I really liked the detail the designers put into it, from the fortune telling table (in my future, I'm going to succeed) to the potion making area... There was also an array of information from olden times, along with drafts from J.K.Rowling and large paintings from Jim Kay.
My favourite part was when they forgot we were all there and turned the lights off. Even though the stars in the Divernation room were also turned off so I couldn't stargaze, it was like being a kid locked in a toy store overnight- but better because it was Hogwarts.
Only go to the gift shop if you're prepared to spend money though. I met a Niffler there who just had to come home with me!
Actual towers of books at the British Library today. 📚
I love this place - I worked from here for a few months when I first moved to London, and today I took my 3-year-old to check out the permanent exhibition they have there. We saw Gutenberg bibles, Jane Austen manuscripts, the Lindisfarne Gospels, and a host of other treasures.
Needless to say, my daughter was mainly interested in where her next babyccino was coming from, and exactly how many cupcakes we'd be buying on the way home. 😂
