Our Extinction and Livestock conference in partnership with WWF-UK was held last week on Thursday and Friday 5th/6th October.
This international conference explored the impacts of livestock production on biodiversity around the world.
Conservationists, policy makers, food businesses, and other NGO’s all came together to examine how we can transform our global food and farming systems to work for people, the planet and animals.
Here are just some highlights from the two days.
Yuval Noah Harari speaking at the Livestock and Extinction conference about the harsh realities of the dairy industry.
I so often hear people say they've cut down on their animal flesh intake, but they just "love cheese" too much to ever give it up.
I understand the pleasures of the palate are important, but your love for cheese will never outweigh the love a dairy cow has for the calf that was taken from her.
2 painfull #facts I learned today: 1.China's farmers r hand-pollinating their crops cos their bees r gone and 2. we either limit our population growth or the natural world will do it for us. Do go to this conference if u have time #extinction17#extinctionandlivestock#campaignfilm
Attending this incredible conference by Compassion In World Farming and the WWF 'Extinction and Livestock'.
It really is so important that we make dramatic changes to our diet! That doesn't mean going vegan (although that would be amazing), it means reducing your meat consumption and replacing cheap meat with organic and pasture fed product ☺️#compassioninworldfarming#wwf#conference#animalwelfare#extinctionandlivestock
