After yesterday's run I was like nope, get your butt back out there and recall how to run these two miles in your sleep again. And so I went :) Nice little recovery run on heavy legs.
One of my favourite parts about running long distances is getting to run explore different parts of the city that are further than my regular run routes in and around downtown. Today's 13km took me from downtown, over the Lion's Gate Bridge and into west/north van! #runvan#lovetherun
When your boss gives you a new pair of #brooksrunning shoes, you’ve gotta take them out for a spin! Keenie and I adventured out to rock creek park to get some fresh air and a much needed break from studying. These Brook’s Ravenna feel great!! And I got to bust out my down skirt for this chilly run ❄️ does anyone ever get confused on how to stay warm on these winter days? I’m thinking about writing a blog post to help ya get the basics! Would any #beginnerrunner be interested in learning more? Perfect afternoon full of smiles. I hope everyone else finds something to smile about today!!
I have a VIDEO for you today!!! Hop on over to my like page where I share a weekly tip to help you get started!
Here’s the link for today’s tip #5:
Thanks for the fun miles, ladies! It’s nice being between training cycles so we can get back to chatting during our runs! #TisTheSeason#FlyingPig
Leaving my footprints in the sand in beautiful Thailand as our holiday comes to an end 🏝 I’m GRATEFUL for all the beautiful places I got to RUN whilst here but most of all I’m GRATEFUL for the quality time I got to spend with my family 💙 See you next year Phuket 🇹🇭 🏃🏼♀️J x
Because it's Monday and the Patriots are playing!! The Super Bowl in 2015 was the last hoorah before starting my journey. I was late to the party that night trying to take a decent selfie lol. Here I am tonight on my way to a get together. I took one selfie, take it or leave it walking out the door. I'm wearing the same jersey under a hoodie tonight :) 😍😍
Merry early birthmas to me from my future husband 💕
My love of Tiffany’s (tiffany blue) and running combined 🎁
I’m absolutely obsessed with this @garmin watch - and the amount of capabilities it has!
So I should be getting up for my last SUNRISE RUN here in Thailand but my boys were so kind and decided to share the tummy bug they had with me 🤢Not feeling great at all but finding these RACE pics online made me smile 😊 I certainly will miss RUNNING here 🏃🏼♀️J x
I actually made it out the door and ran by 3:30 today 🙌🏾🙌🏾. The air felt like icicles stabbing my lungs and I got a Charlie Horse in both calves. For these reasons I'd call this a successful run! :)
Long post alert: It's totally okay to have different priorities in different stages of your life. There used to be a time when I would be cranky if I skipped a run. I dreaded rest days. I worked so hard I got a stress fracture for overworking myself. I prepped my food, I got adequate sleep, I stayed focused and goal oriented. For the past few months however, running has taken a backseat to other parts of my life. I don't sleep much. My food intake is %^*+#}}~* 😂. I've not cared enough to drag myself out of bed for morning workouts. To compensate, I bring my gym bag EVERYDAY to work and EVERYDAY, guess what? By 3pm I'm too lazy to go make up for that morning workout because I'm not fueled and hydrated properly and I don't get enough sleep. It's terrible!! To some who know me it's like I'm having a midlife crisis. I just want to DO and BE more. I've been tied down for most of my adult life and now I've found things and people I want to be around and I'm soaking up all the moments. All good things must come to an end and I figure at some point I'll go back to having plenty of time to log 10 milers. For now I'll just live more and do less. I hope to find a maintenance balance before I lose all of my progress but I've chosen to accept that punishment in exchange for other rewards right now. Choose your path and own it and just be at peace with it. Many will call me crazy but that's okay...that's been my middle name since I was born. ❤️
The POWER of RUNNING 🙌🏻 Meet Mud and Thirayu.. I notice Mud had a GARMIN on so I started talking to him about RUNNING.. It was him who told me about the PHUKETHON 😉 if I hadn’t started a conversation with him I would have missed the chance to RUN on Saturday. He RAN his first half yesterday in 1:46🥇and Thirayu ran his first full in 4:15🥇What SUPERSTARS ⭐️I’ll be back in 2018 to RUN with them😉🏃🏼♀️J x
Yesterday I wrote about how I #DNF my first #halfmarathon but today is 12 months since I #finished one! 👏 ... I wasn’t letting a setback like near death #dramaqueen stop me! But I didn’t tell a soul 🤫 not my husband, not my family, not my friends. I figured if I didn’t tell anyone, it wouldn’t matter if I walked, or completely gave up if I had to, because no one was expecting me to be doing it. I could not #fail this time. And I didn’t! I crossed the #finishline in just over 2 hours (that gives me something new to work toward ... #run a sub 2 hour half marathon! #goals ) ... it was the #bestdayever ... I just needed to let go of all the pressure and just #runfree ❤️🏃🏻♀️#motivationmonday#mondaymotivation#yaymonday
