In the week since my father's death, there's been so many moments of sadness and sorrow as well as laughter and celebration. Many people told me this week how much they loved my dad and how he had impacted their lives with moments of neighborliness, caring, and support. I am grateful for not only the family and friends with whom I was able to honor his life, but also for so many of the thoughts and prayers that were sent.
Dad lived a long life and while I'm so thankful for his 84 years, the suddenness of his passing and vibrancy of his life makes it hard to accept.
This photo is from the last time I was with him. We went to Sneaky Pete's - a reborn "old spot" in Erie and had cocktails and charcuterie. I remember telling him then how much I was enjoying being together. I just had no idea how much I would cherish it.
