Super great book 'The Secret Life of Space' about the key breakthroughs and discoveries mankind has made concerning space. One highlight lies on the fact that most! of these discoveries were not made by scientists, but rather unknown persons: nerds that were glued to their telescopes and experiments after their everyday jobs. The heros next door ❤️
I have developed a 'Can your government be trusted?' self-test. Imagine extraterrestrials finally arrive on earth and get in touch with us. Once the government controls the situation, can you imagine that
1)there will be no cover up
2)we will get daily updates about the situation
3)the news will mirror these updates in detail?
If you answered all these questions with no, then congratulations, your government can't be trusted!
I have a very soft spot for this band. It is perfect music to listen to driving in the car at cold nights. They were heavily promoted by Brian Wilson, who also wrote 2 songs for them. I can totally see why he loved them. Also, I would love Josh Homme and band going in this direction when they are older- no joke. Ginger Elvis has the perfect pitch for this kind of music.
#tbt to 5 years ago, when I married my divine partner in crime. I felt terribly nervous that morning, nauseous, and for once in my life I shut up ❤️
Balcony Demos pt.3 Due to overwhelming demands here is another lofi song from me called '21 Ants' (or 'Twants' if you speak fast). Have fun trying to figure the lyrics and sense out 🤔It was my first song so treat it nice!
One of my most prized possessions: My copy of 'Vengeance' signed by Benjamin Biolay. Too bad that it's my least favorite album by him, although I love the hypnotic title song with Carl Barât of The Libertines on it.
It's horrible to be a Biolay fan in Germany. He's a superstar in France, but plays rather small concerts here (he just toured twice). That is not the actual problem, but his audience. Snobby, francophile German bourgoise, a nightmare. People at the concert would drink their white wines and Pernods and watch the concert in a self-satisfied manner, ridiculously trying out their language skills they acquired in community centres, it was like a parody. When I wanted to go in front of the stage , they would protest since they thought they were in an opera house with fixed seats. It was ridiculous since that venue was not sold out at all, and I have never felt more out of place at a concert. Good acts - bad fanbase: the struggle is real. What was your strangest experience when it comes to this?
Captain Smith pushing you through a frightening labyrinth of rage and despair with electric prods, one existential fight chasing the other without a solution.
Shake baby shake
Primal Scream 'Riot City Blues' - the best Stones record since 'Some Girls' if you ask me. I like the idea of a city blues and I absolutely love the cover. That boy reminds me of the very early photos of Elvis.
There is a parallel Frank Miller universe where this record is called 'Primal Riot - Scream City Blues'
Hey Morrissey, you leave Germany alone and stick to the Brexit and making Alanis Morissette-like records, ok?
. "I think every country should keep its identity. Millions of people died for German identity. If you think they deserve respect, you must protect their country." (Morrissey November 2017 to German Spiegel Magazine)
There is one thing that we Germans hate even more than being the bad guys for people who think that the only thing that ever came out of Germany are Nazis: Being the good guys for people who think the BEST that ever came out of Germany were Nazis! .
Some of you will remember my Simple Minds post a while ago, and it was not too friendly. Well, in the meantime, this happened 🙈 @kevkavanagh62@iliketea and @digital_tenderness told me about the early electronic-synth-bliss of them and I bought their records at the fleamarket to fact-check that. And yes, I actually like some of these a lot now, and I also find Jim Kerr's voice very good, kinda cocky. What made me remember a teenage friend I had forgotten about.
Priska was a beautiful blond girl who would live next to a church and regularly skip school to go home and hit her huge bong. Oddly, she would ONLY and ALWAYS listen to the Simple Minds when getting high and flying. What a scenery, right? 😂 Oh, these characters we got to know when we were young!
Getting down on memory lane with the Simple Minds, who would have thought?
