It was worth spending (almost) all my allowance on a trip to the national park.
-
Wanted to post pictures of the animals instead of my face but most of the animals fled when the truck approached and I could only take pictures of their butts...
-
So here’s a pretentious pic of me looking out the wilderness. 😊

On the day we parted two years ago (him to Mexico and I to the west coast), we bid our goodbyes by giving each other a long hug in Skyhall. And I cried, because it was one of the hardest goodbyes in Syracuse.
-
He was the one who risked being laughed at and bundled himself up for a party on a cool summer night for fear that us girl might get cold on the way back home.
•
He was the one who offered me his jacket when I was ranting about the cold weather during our 3-min walk from the canteen to dorm while other guys (mostly Asian) quickly zipped up their own jackets and kept walking.
•
He was the one who was willing to rent a car for an hour just to drop me off at the airport at 5 in the morning.
•
He was the one who bought us overly-priced French cheese from New York City and cooked us French food.
-
It was nice (and surreal) meeting up with this one again. Seeing him in person reminds me so much of the time we spent together in Syracuse.

In remembrance of
• me, a girl grew up riding bicycle, being yelled at “Move! Move!” for riding too slow and “WHAT THE FUCK” for riding on the wrong lane
(I mean, we don’t have rules riding bicycle in Cheung Chau...)
• me, a girl grew up riding bicycle, falling off my bicycle as I moved too close to the sidewalk, with my glasses dangling in front of my mouth
What a scene...

I once again fall short on words to describe the beauty of nature.

到現在還在消化以前發生的事,懷念已離開的人。有點像時差,明明是大白天,但生理和心理仍然停留在前一晚,幾經辛苦,適應了大白天,原來現實又已經轉成黑夜了。

On day like this, in which I rolled out of bed at 8 in the morning, hit the gym and did 2 classes in a row, nailed bakasana, had a nice late brunch with a creamy acai yogurt bowl and a refreshing iced Americano, read some well-written words, I should feel satisfied, or at least, productive. However, for some bizarre reason, I still feel empty on the inside - like the vacuum moment when falling into an endless abyss waiting for the bottom to hit.
-
I am not sure if that is because of my post-graduation lack of life goals, motivation and momentum to move forward, or the secret hatred and self contempt I harbor against myself for watching silly Korean dramas, or the fact that my dad has been on my mind, or simply a combination of everything.
I don't know. I really don't.

My mind is a chaotic tangled ball of yarns which even I don't have the patience to untangle...

This cathedral took over 600 years to finish and was one of the few buildings that remain standing after air raids in WWII.

Visiting this place first hand makes me fall (once again) into the never-ending philosophical loop of religion. Was it God's will to keep it standing amidst the war? Does God exist? If so, then why can't I sense his existence? Am I being ignorant here by trying to comprehend an all-knowing and omnipotent being from an ordinary human point of view? Or am I the protagonist in Raymond Carver's short story "Cathedral" who looks rather sees? When will I be able to see, to get true insight and to be able to see beyond the surface and get to the true meaning that lies within?

Just a little documentation of a day in Sri Lanka with endless sea view, (strong) sea breeze, tangled hair, messy bun, good food and good people. 😌

A rather philosophy-heavy book haul from book fair. Hopefully these books will make me a little wiser and bring me new insight on life/anything
-
I used to hate throwing away stuff because I feel like I am throwing away part of myself, part of who I am whenever I throw away something. But today, I threw away A LOT (by a lot I mean a hell lot) of useless stuff and silly novels and I am (weirdly) relieved and happy to see free space on my book shelf.
